Carta Abierta de ProCiudadanos al Consejo de Seguridad Nacional del Hemisferio Occidental

Es hora de aprender del pasado:
Apoyar incondicionalmente a un partido político y también apoyar a un activista de esa organización es una estrategia infructuosa para cambiar el régimen de Nicolás Maduro.
El socialismo es responsable de la tragedia que atraviesa el pueblo venezolano.
Los venezolanos, en todos los sectores, están sufriendo pero el número de los que van a Washington como líderes de la oposición venezolana ha aumentado de manera increíble. El país está sufriendo y sus políticos están participando del gran negocio que ahora representa la pertenencia a la oposición en Venezuela. El reconocido por su gobierno como presidente interino de Venezuela, ahora sobrevive al igual que el dictador Nicolás Maduro.
Si nadie te lo ha dicho, déjame decirte esto: las manifestaciones convocadas por estos líderes de la oposición son cada vez más breves a pesar de los millones que han recibido en apoyo de fundaciones asociadas al Departamento de Estado de Estados Unidos.
Por eso, señor Juan González, repito: es hora de negociar con el pez gordo. Las sanciones no resolverán el problema. Al contrario, están ayudando a victimizar a un inepto como Maduro. Durante meses he dirigido al Departamento de Estado algunos estudios de opinión de nuestro Movimiento Prociudadanos realizados en los barrios – los sectores más pobres – de Venezuela para conocer la opinión de la gente sobre la crisis. La respuesta es firme: la gente pobre cree que Estados Unidos de América es responsable de su tragedia.
Sin embargo, la Administración de Estados Unidos continúa diciendo que las sanciones deberían continuar. Mis preguntas, señor Juan González, son: ¿por qué deben continuar las sanciones? ¿Cuál es el verdadero beneficio de ellos?
Es cierto que no se debe mantener una política agradable con regímenes criminales con Cuba; Tampoco debe repetirse el error del bloqueo, que le dio al régimen castrista todos los argumentos para eludir su responsabilidad por el desastre económico provocado por la fallida ideología del socialismo y culpar a las sanciones.
Las dos bases de la dictadura venezolana son Nicolás Maduro y Diosdado Cabello; ambos son delincuentes y a lo largo de la historia han dejado morir a sus compañeros en la cárcel. Ninguno tiene honor ni escrúpulos.
Nicolás y Diosdado solo se preocupan por sus familias y nadie más. Maduro, por ejemplo, dejó morir a su amigo y socio en el atraco (Nelson Martínez, presidente de PDVSA) en la oficina de la policía política, y Diosdado Cabello dejó morir a su amigo cercano (Miguel Rodríguez Torres, exjefe de espionaje) en la cárcel. . Tanto Nicolás como Diosdado se parecen demasiado a Noriega.
Por eso, creo que su Administración debe aceptar a los Embajadores de cada uno de ellos para negociar una rendición y brindar garantías para ellos y sus familiares como parte de un acuerdo que permita el desbloqueo de la crítica situación venezolana.
Señor Juan González, el recorrido es sencillo. Es necesario hacer un trato con el pez gordo que les permita tener una salida honorable como la que le dieron a Noriega unos meses antes de que su círculo lo convenza de rechazar el trato.
La oposición tradicional en Venezuela está tan interesada en sabotear cualquier otro acuerdo con los grandes. La negociación distanciará al chavismo del gobierno y también de la oposición que lo apoya.

For months I have directed the State Department some opinion studies of our Prociudadanos Movement carried out in the neighborhoods – the poorest sectors – of Venezuela to know the opinion of the people about the crisis. The answer is firm: poor people believe that the United States of America is responsible for their tragedy.
However, the US Administration goes on to say that sanctions should continue. My questions, Mr. Juan González, are: why should the sanctions continue? What is the true benefit of them?
It is true that a pleasant policy should not be maintained with criminal regimes with Cuba; Nor should the error of the blockade be repeated, which gave the Castro regime all the arguments to evade its responsibility for the economic disaster caused by the failed ideology of socialism and to blame the sanctions.
The two bases of the Venezuelan dictatorship are Nicolás Maduro and Diosdado Cabello; both are criminals and throughout history they have let their companions die in jail. None have honor or scruples.
Nicolás and Diosdado only care about their families and no one else. Maduro, for example, let his friend and partner in robbery (Nelson Martínez, president of PDVSA) die in the office of the political police, and Diosdado Cabello let his close friend (Miguel Rodríguez Torres, former head of espionage) die in the jail. Both Nicolás and Diosdado are too similar to Noriega.
For this reason, I believe that your Administration must accept the Ambassadors of each of them to negotiate a surrender and provide guarantees for them and their families as part of an agreement that allows the unblocking of the critical Venezuelan situation.
Mr. Juan González, the route is simple. It is necessary to make a deal with the big shot that allows them to have an honorable exit like the one they gave Noriega a few months before his circle convinces him to reject the deal.
The traditional opposition in Venezuela is so keen to sabotage any other deal with the big guns. The negotiation will distance Chavismo from the government and also from the opposition that supports it.
